The FIRE of DESIRE

The fire of our desire is that which consumes us. It is a fire that is never quenched or it is one that burns away the dross. We are a victim of its burning heat or one that is refined. It all depends on our desire. This fire within is going to burn with ever-increasing heat. Unsatisfied untill the job is done, producing a sinner or a saint.

The sinners have their leaning, imaginations of evil things. They would pridefully be named a name above others. The fire of their desire consumes them in this quest, for only one name holds this honor, Jesus, a name above all others. Saints have been given His name.

The sinners have desires of self, to satisfy the flesh. Burning for another or a new pair of shoes. Never enough, always seeking something more. Never finding satisfaction in this growing burning fire. Saints are discovering that less of self is so much more.

The sinners burn in their desires, their raging burning fire, preparing them for what is to come. Yet, God would make saints of them if He would be their desire. In order for God’s will to be done His word must be heard. He desires not one to perish in an unrelenting fire. Make the choice within yourself, mark today as the day you would gladly be on fire with all of His desire.

The sinners need a Saviour, the saints need to spread the word. And we don’t have to talk high and mighty knowing all things. That is not the saint’s way. We simply share what we have been taught, in our own words. We have been called living epistles that all men can read.

May the fire of our desire for Jesus burn with intensity. And that it will as He burns away the dross. The bright light of His Holy Fire is what we are meant to be.

About Paul Burgess

Learning to be a child that follows and shares so that we understand more of His love that goes beyond our understanding. That our life be transformed in such a way that Judah and Israel become jealous. That they are provoked to envy that the nations have received of His grace. That they might shout "Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord." That rightiousness be restored.
